MICROFUEL TECHNOLOGY

Earth, Wind & Fire addresses rising energy costs, dependence on foreign oil and inefficiency in Waste Management via the environmentally friendly MicroFuel W2E process. This advanced Waste to Energy facility produces low cost electrical power or substantial quantities of high quality, synthetic diesel fuel from many carbonaceous sources including municipal solid waste, sewer sludge, and agricultural waste and crops. The process occurs inside a closed-loop system, meaning, there are no harmful emissions or hazardous bi-products. Because this is a carbon- neutral process, the produced diesel will help reduce the carbon dioxide levels released into the atmosphere.

The unique feature of the MicroFuel™ Technology is the direct, single-phase transformation of carbonaceous feedstock into low-cost, synthetic diesel fuel. Feedstock materials range from energy crops like miscanthus (elephant grass) and wood; biogenic and animal wastes; municipal solid waste (MSW); and wastewater sewer sludge. The high caloric fraction (HCF) from these feedstocks allows for a new, highly productive utilization without the adverse effects of environmentally hazardous direct combustion. All of these materials can be converted to  valuable fuel products. The term in the waste industry known as Refuse  Derived Fuel (RDF) gains new importance due to the MicroFuel Technology.
